Site profile
The core brief behind every article — what you do, your niche, language, market, and where your blog lives.
Your site profile is the foundation RankPine builds on. Most of it is filled in automatically when you add your site, and you confirm it during onboarding — but you can edit any of it anytime under Settings → Profile. Changes save automatically.
This is the brief behind every article
The clearer and more specific your profile, the sharper and more on-brand each article is. It's worth a few minutes to get right.
Fields
| Field | What it controls |
|---|---|
| Site name | How RankPine refers to your product or brand. |
| Website URL | Your site. Also the crawl target used to find pages for internal links. |
| Niche | The specific market you compete in. Narrower beats broader — "privacy-first web analytics" anchors topics far better than "software". |
| Description | The single most important field: what you do, your real features, and what sets you apart. Every article draws on this. |
| Brand positioning | How articles should frame your product — the angle to take, not a hard sales pitch. |
| Language | Your main language — the one every article is written in. Pick the language your readers search in; it doesn't have to match your site's interface. |
| Also publish in | Extra languages every article also ships in, each localised and published as its own post. $15/month each, up to five; they don't use your monthly articles. See Languages. |
| Target market | The country RankPine optimises rankings and search trends for. Choose Global to target worldwide search instead of one country. |
| Sitemap URL | Used to discover your existing pages so RankPine can add relevant internal links. |
| Blog address | Where your articles live (e.g. example.com/blog). RankPine links each published article to its live URL. Optional. |
Writing a strong description
The Description is the brief behind everything. Aim to capture:
- What the product actually does — concretely, not a tagline.
- Your real features — the specific capabilities worth writing about.
- What sets you apart from the competitors you listed.
A rich description like "Privacy-first, cookie-less web analytics for indie SaaS and agencies. Real-time dashboards, funnels, custom events, GDPR-compliant by default, no consent banner required" gives RankPine far more to work with than "web analytics tool."
Niche vs. market vs. audience
These three steer different things — set all of them:
- Niche — what space you compete in. Anchors topics and keywords.
- Target market — which country's search you optimise for. Affects keyword volumes and trends.
- Audiences — who you write for. Shapes the angle and depth of each article.
